Worked with local restaurant owners to refine and elevate the design of a second location for a beloved Austin taqueria. The goal was to balance familiar elements with fresh aesthetics with a vibrant local flare, while adhering to budget constraints.

Project Tasks:


  • Collaborative Needs Assessment: Partnered with the client to understand their vision, budget limitations, and desired timeline for design integration.

  • Multi-Phased Design Plan: Crafted a flexible plan incorporating the original color scheme, and work from local artists in a phased rollout proposal of design improvements that can be completed over the first year based on costs.

  • Local Artist Network: Leveraged local connections to identify and collaborate with Austin-based artists, infusing the new venue with an authentic aesthetic and supporting the art and music community.

  • Client Communication & Refinement: Conducted regular consultations and presentations, incorporating client feedback to ensure the final design resonated with their vision.

Consulted with restaurant owners to refine their vibrant company colors into a more elevated and sophisticated palette that maintained brand identity. Integrated classic rustic Mexican accents, such as handcrafted tiles, natural wood elements, and traditional textiles, to honor their cultural heritage. Redesigned the layout to create a more versatile and accessible space, allowing seamless transitions for various events, from intimate dinners to large gatherings. The final design blended authenticity with functionality, enhancing both the dining experience and event capabilities.
